DID YOU KNOW...?
The granite-faced house overlooking Thrasher Park (The Buchanan House) was built in 1907 by Edward Buchanan. He grew up in Norcross as an orphan and later made it big on Wall Street. He had the home designed in New York and built it as a gift for his foster mother, Mrs. Martha Tedder. Each granite block was numbered and placed by hand (a rare sight in a small Southern town at the time). When the house was finished, Norcross threw a Fourth of July barbecue to celebrate. According to locals, it was the first time many had ever seen bakery bread. Fifty loaves were brought in from Atlanta for the occasion. Read the full story (with photos) here.

True North VBS at Mt. Carmel UMC

Gwinnett County Democratic Party Meetings
Jorge Granados invites the Young Norcross community to attend upcoming Gwinnett County Democratic Party meetings. These gatherings are open to the public and offer a chance to learn more about local issues, connect with others, and take part in the democratic process. Two upcoming meetings include the Gwinnett County Democratic Party General Meeting on Saturday, May 10 at 11a. The next Gwinnett County Young Democrats meeting is on Monday, May 12 at 6p.
Need a Summer Babysitter?

Volunteer Opportunity! Support Prison Alliance
Join Trish and Layla on Saturday, June 14, to volunteer with Passion City Church and Prison Alliance as part of the LOVE ATLANTA initiative. Volunteers will stamp, pack, and prepare Christian books and Bibles to be sent to prisons across the country. This event is open to all ages and is a good opportunity for families, coworkers, and friends to serve together. The event will be held from 10a-1p at the Prison Alliance Warehouse, 4300 Buford Drive, Suite 11, Buford.
