Norcross Email Extravaganza Vol. 234
A weekly email for the young & forever young in Historic Norcross
DID YOU KNOW...?
Norcross was known as “Atlanta’s Summer Resort” in the late 1800s. The Airline Belle commuter train would bring visitors up from the city to escape the heat. Visitors would camp by the Chattahoochee River or stay at one of the three hotels in town. The Brunswick Hotel was well known for its chicken pot pie and the rocking chairs on its two front porches (we should bring this back as a restaurant, y’all). The hotel was located across the street from Thrasher Park, but was very unfortunately demolished in the mid-1900s. Click here to see the hotel back in the day!

Neighbor in Need
Ruth Holleman, a longtime member of Northlands Church, is looking for a room to rent in Norcross, Berkeley Lake, or Peachtree Corners. MEET YOUR NEIGHBORS
Meet the Kay Family: Chuck, Janine, Alexa, and Hadley the golden retriever. They have loved meeting so many neighbors in Norcross and exploring all that this awesome community has to offer. They often refer to it as their little Hallmark town! The Kays moved in last December from Fishers, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. Chuck works for Elevance Health (Anthem) as a Sourcing Director and Janine is a preschool director at Norcross First United Methodist. Alexa is a senior at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide) and is heading to law school this fall. Hadley loves walks around the neighborhood and meeting all the other dogs. They look forward to meeting everyone around Norcross and are grateful for the warm welcome they have already received!
