Norcross Email Extravaganza Vol. 216
Did you know...?
Today is Veterans Day! We are so grateful for those who served our country! Thank you!
Also - The City of Norcross hosts two Neighborhood Cleanup and Recycling Days each year, and tomorrow, November 12, is one of them! This is a great opportunity for secure shredding, electronics recycling, scrap metal, hard-to-recycle material, single-stream recycling, glass recycling, and bulk material disposal. Bring your items to Norcross Public Works between 8a-12p to be properly disposed of or recycled. Be sure to check here for a traffic flow map and more details before participating! *Hazardous materials (batteries, paint, large car parts, motors, tires, oil, anti-freeze, concrete, household chemicals, and similar items) will not be allowed.
Yard Sale (and Bake Sale) for Adoption!
The Rauschenbergs are in the early stages of adopting a special needs baby with Down syndrome. One big way to support them is through their adoption yard sale. All funds from the yard sale will help them bring this baby into their family! The event takes place at 230 Lake Drive, Norcross 30071 on November 11 and 12 from 8a-3p. If the weather is terrible on Friday, November 11, the sale will shift to November 12 and 13 instead! *If you would like to donate items to the yard sale, text Hannah at 706-980-5688!*

Walking History Tours with Gene Ramsay
Gene Ramsay is conducting two walking history tours Sunday, November 13! These two tours will have a minimal overlap of stories told. Feel free to come to one or both tours!
Tour #1: Meet at Thrasher Park in Norcross at 2:00 PM
Join local resident Gene Ramsay for a one-hour walking tour starting at the picnic shelter in Thrasher Park. Hear stories of the early history of the town and the people who put Norcross on the map. Learn about early railroads, summer resorts, blacksmiths, baseball, murder, brave veterans, and more!
Tour #2: Meet at Mount Carmel UMC Graveyard (5100 South Old Peachtree Road) at 4:00 PM
Mount Carmel UMC predates the founding of Norcross by nearly half a century. We will review stories from the early settlers through the present day – of tragedy, humor, faith, generosity, bravery, fox hunting, and more over almost 200 years.
